How we work

The basic principle is as straightforward as it is effective: make a donation for each goal scored by your favorite professional or amateur team. Each participant in Goal4Africa can contribute in their own way.

HOW GOAL4AFRICA WORKS?

Donations

Funds will be generated through a revenue model that comprise of Global Partners, Local Sponsors, Donors and New Media plus additional income from Kick-Off Events. The goal is to raise in celebration of Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday.

Global Partners – Exclusive Global Partners will match a certain amount of goals of their specified team/league. They will receive benefits on a global scale.
Example:

  • A Global Partner donates $1,000 per goal for 200 goals scored per season in the FA & Euro Champions League

  • Local Sponsors – Three exclusive Local Sponsors for each country will match a certain amount of goals of their specified team/league. They will receive benefits on a national level.
    Example:

  • A Local Sponsor in the US donates $500 per goal for 200 goals scored per season in MLS

  • Donors – Governments, Soccer Clubs & Leagues, Celebrities, Philanthropists, Parents, Families and Friends can select to match the goals scored of their favorite team.
    Examples:

  • A Canadian amateur football team donates $10 for every goal scored this season
  • A philanthropist in the US donates $100,000 for goals scored at any amateur and professional level
  • A fan in Holland donates $10 for every goal that his favorite team scores over two year

  • New Media – Digital goals will be scored through an interactive goal kicking game on the world wide web. In addition, through a mobile marketing game goals will be scored through cell phones. Interactive games will also be sold through consoles. This is still under construction. Examples:
  • A soccer fan in Asia plays the interactive Goal4Africa game on www.goal4africa.org and donates $1 for every goal scored in the game
  • A soccer fan in England plays the interactive Goal4Africa game on his cell phone and donates £1 for every goal scored in the game
